Overview | Iridium-based catalysts including indium iodide are the most promising catalysts for methanol carbonylation to prepare acetic acid. In recent years, there have been many researches on the preparation of acetic acid by iridium-based catalysts, such as the use of ruthenium and osmium to improve the catalytic system; the addition of ruthenium, osmium, rhenium, chromium, tungsten, gallium, and indium to improve the reaction performance; the presence of metal accelerators and ionic iodide assisted accelerators; the addition of transition metals and lithium salts to improve the reaction performance; the addition of alkali metal iodides, alkaline earth metal iodides, can generate iodide ion metal complex and iodide ion salt. |
